Headphone Disco

Hey Mustangs! On Friday the 21st from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. in Rockland Banquet, MAP is hosting a dance called Headphone Disco. Instead of a traditional dance with one DJ, Headphone Disco will have three different DJs playing at the same time. When you arrive, you pick up a pair of headphones and get to choose which DJ to listen to -- and you can switch between DJs throughout the dance, whenever you want! That way, you’ll have a variety of music genres to choose from. There will be something for everyone.
The first DJ is from Degy Entertainment, which is the company that’s providing the headphones; the second DJ is Shamari, a Stevenson student; and the third DJ station is student-run and will be taking requests throughout the night!
We are currently accepting entries for a raffle to win a $50 gift card! All you have to do is get your ticket (use this link: maphdstudent.eventbrite.com) , post a screenshot of your ticket confirmation on your Instagram story, and tag @mapatsu, @stevensonuniversity23, and @stevensonuniversity. You can also get a guest ticket through this link: maphdguest.eventbrite.com. We will have gift card raffles at the dance as well!
If you’d like to see what a Headphone Disco is really like, check out this “Expectation vs. Reality” video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zQUTxirnl4M. I’ll see you on Friday!

New Sounds at Stevenson

Hey everyone! On Tuesday, 2/18 at 7pm, Noah Hoehn is coming to Stevenson for a unique musical performance that I bet you’ve never seen before! Noah blends new blues and marimba pop using his trusty xylophone and incredible live-looping technology. He will be taking the stage in the Ratcliffe Community Center, so you can pop in and have a listen to his music.

Last fall, MAP discovered Noah at NACA, and we instantly fell in love with such a creative performance that we had to bring him to Stevenson to show everyone. We are constantly hunting for amazing performers, and we hope you enjoy Noah as much as we did. See ya on 2/18 in Ratcliffe at 7pm!

Be Your Own Bae

Well hi there, my name is Grace and I am very excited to introduce the Be Your Own Bae event which happens on February 13th and is new for MAP. Some of you may be wondering what Galantine’s day is. According to Leslie Knope from the show Parks and Rec, it’s a day to celebrate your lady friends, but we are opening it up to everyone! Whether you’re single, taken, or anything in between, Be Your Own Bae is for you.

Okay, so now you know what the day is about, but what will you actually do at the event? Activities that are included are watching the movie Bridesmaids, making Valentine’s survival kits which include a bath bomb (treat yourself), write Valentine’s cards for loved ones, and a station to do your nails. For food, we will have chocolate fondue with fruits, pretzels, and marshmallows to dip, and popcorn to go with the movie. The event will be held in the Claire E. Moore Room which is located in Garrison Hall North (the one closest to School of Business) and will be from 9pm-11pm. Hope to see you there!

What’s up Mustangs! Feeling stressed or overwhelmed already by being back at school? If so, we have the perfect way to de-stress and laugh! Comedian Jen Kober will be joining us this Thursday at 9pm in the Garrison Coffee House! Jen has a dare: for you not to laugh. Are you Mustangs ready to take on the dare and not laugh? I gotta admit, I saw one of her videos myself and laughed when she isn’t even here yet. Here, have a look for yourself with the link down below! Hope to see everyone there at 9pm in the Garrison Coffee House! By the way, there is even a chance for you to win a SU After Dark T-shirt upon entry…
