Hello everyone! My name is Jess and I am one of the programmers planning MAP’s third annual Food Truck Rally. The event will be back this Sunday April 29th from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. We will be having a wide range of food and desert trucks this year for you all to enjoy. We will be having 9 trucks in total as well as many other forms of entertainment.
The trucks at the event will include:
  • Carnivore BBQ
  • Brick n Fire Pizza
  • Craving Potato Factory
  • Mexican Food Truck
  • The Green Bowl (Asian and Latin- Inspired Cuisine)
  • GoGanics (Organic food)
  • Cream Cruiser (Ice Cream Cookie Sandwiches)
  • Deddle’s Donuts
  • Kona Ice
We will also be giving out Food Truck Bucks for students to spend at the trucks. The first 300 people in line will receive $12 and the next 100 people will get $10, so make sure you line up early!
Also, don’t forget to invite your family and friends as this event will be open to the public. We hope to see you there and enjoy the good food!

Laugh, Cry, Love

Picture

My name is Krystal Alexis and I am putting on an event called Laugh, Cry, Love. I wanted to create this event this year because I feel as people we are divided. Divided by political views, skin color, disability, gender, and more. I wanted to create an event centered around intersectionality. Although we are all different we still as human all share these three basic emotions. We Laugh,We cry and most importantly we love. Stevenson Students are a diverse group with many intersecting identities and I feel like this is a perfect event to bring Stevenson Students Together! We are having "The Asia Project" and "Mayhem Poets" come perform and their poetry tackles a variety of topics such as love, heartbreak, comedy, identity, beauty, feminism, racism, and also  Asia is a cancer survivor so through his poetry he shares his story.
I think its important for us as a student body to hear these words. To laugh , cry and Love together as one. SU please help me in spreading positive throughout our campus.
After our performers we will be having an open MIC night for any students who would like to share stories or speak their truth.
There will be a photo booth where students can hold sign of whatever positive message they would like to share with the world and some light refreshments.

The event is April 24, at 7p.m. in the Ratcliffe Community Center.

I joined MAP because I loved the events they offered during my freshman year. Since being a member, I joined the E-board as the treasurer. Filling this role was the best decision I ever made. Joining the MAP team has help me became more open and outgoing. An example would be Karaoke Night. At Karaoke my friends and I came up with a whole routine to perform Justin Bieber’s song “Baby”. The audience loved us and I did not feel embarrassed after. If I was not a member of MAP I would have never got up on the stage. MAP is a great program here at Stevenson and it helps students like me come of their shells.

Hi my name is Alyssa and I am a sophomore business communication major. I’ve been in MAP for two years now and have loved every minute of it. I started out as a member and am now the Vice President of Membership for the year 2018-2019. Being a part of MAP has truly made me feel at home here and really allowed me to see the community that Stevenson embraces. I’ve gained so many friends, connections, and memories that will last me a life time. I’ve gotten to meet so many different performers like Nick Hagelin and Bryan Bautista from The Voice. MAP is a worthwhile experience and a club that everyone should join. You get the opportunity to meet different performers and do a lot of things that other college students don’t have the chance to do. I am so happy that I joined MAP and I’m so excited to take on my position next year!
