Just kidding, there is no shock that working in MAP has given me a never ending supply of free T-shirts and other miscellaneous items, but my favorite part of the job is seeing the events I host evoke positive emotions in those who attend. Sounds kind of sappy right? Through my events I have been able to build connections like never before and actually change the way people feel. Take the Live Animals event for example, for those 3 hours people forgot all about their homework and were able to destress by seeing exotic animals. What about the awesome comedy events? The comedians spread laughter and happiness to all of the people who attended the events. You could see as the faces in the audience lit up and erupted in roaring laughter.
What about the Kings Dominion Halloween trip? That was another wonderful event where we filled two coach buses with students and guests and went to a theme park by day, haunted attraction by night. There is nothing quite as wonderful as watching the people who attend your event riding a very fast rollercoaster or being scared half to death by some of the haunted houses. There’s also the Founder’s Day Talent Show (which I co-directed with Nicole) and Rockland Blowout, but you get my point!
So now you know my favorite part of the job. There are several aspects which I truly adore and will truly miss, but my favorite has been providing people with fun and unique experiences that will leave a lasting impact and continue to spread happiness when they look back on them and smile. I know I will.
