![]() It all started the first week of my freshman year. There were all kinds of Comedy Shows, Pinterest Parties and not to mention the Paint U Dance! All these great events, but who produced them? Was it SGA? No. What about Student Activities? Possibly? It was MAP! MAP was only one of the clubs I joined when I first came to Stevenson, but it is definitely my favorite. I joined MAP and instantly wanted to get involved with volunteering for the events. When I first got onto the executive board I wanted to plan MAP’s bigger events, and when we left for summer break all I could think about was event planning as soon as I got back. On the first day back I was told I got to plan Wet N Wild field day. I was elated, because Wet N Wild was one of my favorite events during my freshman year. Weeks of preparation with the E-board had equipped me to manage one of the biggest events of the semester. I knew that I had to begin planning what supplies were needed for the event besides all the preordered inflatables. After sorting through all the games and activities chosen by the MAP E-board, I gathered any extra supplies, and emailed everyone, especially the Mappies, the date and times of the event. After weeks of planning, the time had finally come. The doors opened and everyone flooded in to see the attraction. Wet N Wild was definitely a hit and after the event was over and everything was packed up and put away, I knew it was a success. I couldn’t have done it without the E-board members and MAP volunteers’ help! Joey Byrd Programmer
