1. Pick 3 things that you will do at the same time every day
For me that's 7am getting up to workout and once I finish my workout I go make breakfast and lastly I talk to my best friend before I go to bed around 10. After you identify what things you know you are going to do every day, space out the time you need to do other things like so:
If I work out and eat breakfast by 10 and my class starts at 1 I have 2 hours to start a hw assignment for next week or update my resume or anything that could be done in 2 hours. For that makes it easier being in a time crunch. It's like making yourself procrastinate by pressuring yourself into a time frame with a new deadline if that makes sense?
2. Check it off
Having a Checklist helps me as well. It motivates me to see that I'm checking things off one by one.
3. Grab a buddy
Having an accountability partner as well is helpful to me. I feel like humans are more likely to do things when they know someone is watching or know they are supposed to be doing something. So find that person that's gonna call you out when they catch you slipping.
4. Glam it up
Although we are indoors and have video chat classes I still get dressed up and do my makeup for at least the top half. My PJ pants are super comfy sooo :). This helps me get into the mindset of work mode like I normally would if we were back on campus.
I think the biggest thing with Time management is that you have to find what works for you and stick to it because if you don't tardiness and procrastination can become a bad habit and trust me I know! As an anxious person I tend to worry and overthink and sometimes that causes me to be late or think of excuses to push things back so all of these tips/tricks have helped me in the process to overcome these bad habits. I hope to continue good time management all 2020!
